Recent Launches

We've had two recent launches that I would like to share with you.

Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan

URL: http://isc.ca

Information Services Corporation

Timing: Launched in January 2010. This project took exactly a year from start to end.

Goal: The project goal was to rebuild the external website to serve the people of Saskatchewan -- serving their goals rather than simply reflecting the organization. Build an internal signed in area for tasks that should be supported internally (previously mixed tasks on the external site).

Challenges: Organizational inertia, legacy systems, information structured by organizational function rather than user’s goals.

Scope of work (external & internal sites): Web analytics, upfront usability testing and customers + business interviews, business strategy workshops, information architecture (site mapping and wireframes), content strategy, content writing coaching and copy deck outline, visual design, CSS/HTML development, SharePoint implementation, writing workshops, SharePoint CMS training workshops, governance consulting and workflows, end of project usability testing. Working alongside co-vendor EDS (HP Enterprise Services) for SharePoint integration.

Success: The client bought in to the user centered process early, believed in the research results, and took on the daunting task of all of the content re-org and writing at the second hour, not at the eleventh hour as most would have it. The kudos belongs to the ISC team.

BMO Financial Group

URL: http://bmo.com

BMO Financial Group

Timing: The new site was launched in March 2010. Our engagement, which formed the first piece of the project, was 2 months.

Goal: Move away from organizational constraints into customer territory.

Scope of work (external website): nForm conducted over 10 group interviews involving over 60 internal business stakeholders. After reviewing interview results, our team of three had a full day of intensive sketching sessions. Out of that, we came up with three sets of wireframe designs for the new BMO.com site. We then shaped and delivered one final set of wireframes to the eBusiness team. Since that time, the internal team has iterated on the design, re-written the content, and completed the site development.

Success: The bmo.com eBusiness team is a savvy group of people who carried a vision to completion in a short time. All we did was get the ball rolling.
