Earlier this week we asked each person on the nForm team to send us their favourite concept video.
Here are five of the best ones.
Microsoft Courier Interface Demo
Dennis says:
"I have to say, this thing looks amazing. That is, if the final product is anywhere close to the concept. If it is, I think we'll have some pretty healthy competition for the iPad. I know there are other Courier concept videos around, but it's interesting to note the absence of a virtual keyboard in this one. Even a URL in a browser is entered with a pen."
T.A.T. Augmented ID
Matt says:
"The Astonishing tribe shows as an intriguing concept for linking out web presence with in person meetings. I love the concept, but still think it's a little hampered by current technology. Holding your phone straight out in front of you to get a picture of the person you want to ID is a little awkward and impractical in most situations. But this would sure save us a lot of URL sharing.
The first video is the official Augmented ID concept piece, while the second video appears to be a real-life demo of a prototype version of the concept."
Apple Education Computer Concepts, 1995
Ammneh says:
"It’s very interesting to see that how a vision develops a product. Apple had always thought of iPad as a tool to be used in Education system, and my favorite part of this video is when the students were using their little gadgets in nature to collect small items from outside. I think this vision might not be fully realized by iPad but could be something to consider for future, especially for generation z.
Some of the concepts that I saw in this video, I also saw during my visit in London’s Natural History Museum, in their Darwin centre. It was amazing how the technology was helping kids to connect with nature. A lot of educators are afraid of too much use of technology as authentic ways of teaching has a greater learning impact. What I like in this video is that it shows the technology can be used as an add on to the authentic teaching ways , thus keeping the students more engaged. In my opinion , we will see more of this with generation Z (also called net generation) who will be very much technology oriented folks."
Mag+
Heather says:
"iPad concept video initiated by Bonnier R&D and presented by BERG. Illustrates one possible version of digital magazines in the near future."
(Note: this has since become an actual iPad app with a few changes, although the original concept is arguably more exciting in a lot of ways)
Hotel in the Sky
Yvonne says:
"This is the latest animation by design and innovation company Seymourpowell of its visionary transportation concept, Aircruise - a giant, vertical airship powered by natural energy and designed to carry travellers in style and luxury. The vid shows most of the interior for the first part, and then how the entire Aircruise ship works towards the end. I like this vid for it content as well as its presentation."
