Swimlane diagram now in EightShapes Unify

We were privileged to have Nathan Curtis come speak at CanUX in November 2009. After his talk, I caught up with Nathan and asked him about entering the Swimlane page pattern into the EightShapes Unify collection. It didn’t take long. After a few exchanges, we now have the deliverable in the Unify collection.

You can see the interview I had with Nathan.

One of the things we talked about was actually the name of the deliverable. I know that the original diagram was called “swimlanes diagram”, and so it is already out there. However, upon more careful consideration, Nathan suggested we might want to change the name of it because it isn’t a regular swimlane diagram. We consulted Dan Brown and Dan gave some suggestions. The final name of the deliverable is now “Scenario Description Swimlane”. The “Scenario Description” is from Dan’s suggestion. I thought we needed to keep “Swimlane” as the recognizable piece.

If you have your own deliverable template to share, I strongly recommend submitting it to EightShapes. The privilege was all mine, working with Nathan on making the deliverable available.

If you have comments or suggestions, please send them my way or through to EightShapes. I hope you find this page pattern useful for your work.
