Yesterday I posted the starting line-up for Web Strategy Summit speakers. (The official session descriptions are over at the Web Strategy Summit site if you want to read through them.)
But I wanted to write a few words here about the presenters. Conferences succeed based on the quality of the presenters--and I'm really excited about the people we were able to bring together at Web Strategy Summit. They're experienced leaders and practitioners with interesting, relevant and real stories to share. For example:
- Dan Evans, former President of Critical Mass, will talk about the maturing role of the corporate Internet strategist.
- Dianne Howie and Heather Searl will talk about their work with Logitech's Harmony remote control team. The Harmony remote is a seriously cool and well-designed device.
- Russ Unger, co-author of the just-published A Project Guide to UX Design, will look at how businesses can benefit from crowdsourcing.
- Karyn Zuidinga of Analytic Design Group will show off their tool for testing navigation of content-rich websites.
- Mark Faul and Chris Wight from the City of Ottawa will share how they built a business case for social media.
- Emira Mears from Raised Eyebrow Studio will talk about alternative metrics for online communication that apply to non-profits and government.
- Finally, Avinash Kaushik's keynote is titled "Analytics 2.0: The Art of Customer Centricity & Failing Faster."
And we still have a few more sessions to finalize. So it's shaping up to be a great event with lots of opportunities to learn and connect.
You can still sign up for the conference and two workshops for about $1000. Prices go up on March 20th, so register early.
